End-of-Grade Tests |

In
grades 3 through 8 Transylvania County students take end-of-grade
reading and math tests developed by the state of North Carolina. These
tests are administered in mid-May of each school year.
State-wide
writing tests were not given between 2002-2003 and 2004-2005. Writing
was tested in grades 4 and 7 and scored locally according to earlier
state criteria.
The state of North Carolina no longer ranks performance by systems.
